SYK Sword Academy는 가족이 소유한 회사로, 한국의 검도 강팀 청송 검도클럽의 김종수 관장(아버지)와 미국의 SYK Sword Academy의 관장 김수영(아들) 사범 김송이(딸)이 운영하고 있으며, 상호간의 교류로 인해 빠른 정보와 친선교류를 강점으로 두고있다.

Master Sooyoung Kim became a Korean Kumdo Master as with achieving a KKA-certified 5th dan Black Belt at the age of 28, which was the youngest throughout Kumdo history. The judging committee members highly praised Master Kim’s in depth understanding of the principles of a sword, the precise and agile footwork and superb sparing techniques.
Master Kim started Kumdo training when he was very young with his father who was a nationally renowned Kumdo master. At 12, Master Kim won the national Kumdo championship and also participated in the Greater Japan International Kumdo Championship as a member of Korean national team. Since early 20s, Master Kim has been showing a special ability in teaching students as well. The Children Kumdo Team of CheongSong Training Center led by Master Kim won the 2008natioanl Bon Kook Kum Bup competition.
Master Kim also has contributed to the development of Kumdo in the United Stated by participating several Kumdo competitions which were held in the States to present his Kumdo of international caliber. His professional achievements in America include many first places at USA Bongnimgi, All US Kumdo Championship, AEUSKF Kendo Tournament and Easter US Championship.
